The Savo 650 I built with Dave and Annalise made it to the water. When I meet new people I like to tell them I am a boatbuilder. I think it’s important to have a project to backup that declaration. Abe Lincoln and I would like to present an upcycled vanity. Took a break from making things for an epic sailing journey from Faroe Islands to Bergen Norway with stops in the Shetlands and Fair Isle. Design work. Built a prototype dog bowl holder in 2021. After so many years I made the production version. These things take time. Production version is Sapele finished with a 50/50 mix of urethane and oil. In my absence Annalise and Dave have made great progress on the fit out and finishing of their Savo 650. Coating the inside of the Savo 650 with epoxy prior to fitting frames, gunwales and rowing gear. Plan is to leave the interior bright. As such we took time to bung holes in the apron with matching spruce. Interior details of the Savo 650 are coming together.
